Volunteer Board Member (Physician)

DeDe Cares is seeking a passionate and community-minded physician to serve as a Volunteer Board Member. Our organization is committed to building self-sustaining communities and breaking the cycle of poverty by expanding access to health, education, and economic opportunity. We are looking for a doctor who believes in community impact and wants to use their professional expertise to help guide our health-related initiatives, strengthen our mission, and support strategic growth. A physician with experience in pathology would be especially valuable as we continue exploring health screening, specimen collection, and community-based wellness efforts. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance as a member of the Board of Directors Offer medical insight related to community health and wellness initiatives Provide expertise that may inform screening, specimen-related, or diagnostic-focused programs Support the development of health-focused programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts Attend board meetings and participate in planning discussions Serve as an ambassador for DeDe Cares within the community Preferred Qualifications: MD or DO required Background in pathology strongly preferred Passion for community service and improving access to care Interest in nonprofit leadership, health equity, preventive health, or diagnostic services Willingness to collaborate with board members, healthcare professionals, and community partners Prior board experience is a plus, but not required Time Commitment: This is a volunteer leadership role. Board members are expected to attend scheduled board meetings and provide occasional guidance and support throughout the year.
