Job Title: Backup operatorLocation: RemoteDuration: 6 monthsPR: $34.00/hr on W2DescriptionBackup operator General SummaryThe Backup Operator is responsible for the operational support of a large backup environment. Must be able support and maintain the environment with includes Avamar, Networker and Data Domain.The Backup Team works in a fast paced environment, and the ideal candidate will be someone who is highly motivated with good interpersonal skills, excellent technical skills and deep technical skills and experience working with Dell/EMC Avamar/Networker and Data Domain.Major Responsibilities Creation of server-based Backups policies with multiplexing Analyzes new and existing vendor software; provides installation, maintenance and customization of vendor software as required. Consults with end user to identify current operations procedures and clarify program objectives. Monitors computer program performance to detect errors; applies testing procedures/methodologies (e.g., diagnostic software) and provides interpretation of data. . Maintains industry/technical knowledge base and facilitates/maintains industry relationships. Troubleshooting and resolution of backup failures.Education/Skills/Experience Required Candidate must have bachelor’s degree or related work experience. 2 years working experience in Backup & Restore environments. 2 years of recent daily hands-on support, administration, and deployment of EMC backup products in large enterprise environments Understand the concept of Backup, Restore, Archive, Performance Tuning, policy creation & modification. Should have experience with latest version of Avamar/Networker and Data Domain.Also needed are strong communication skills and the ability to work well with business users in a professional manner.
