Asphalt Plant Operator-Foreman
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for supervising daily activities in production of asphaltDaily operation of asphalt plant including producing and loading- scaling trucks as they load outMonitor material quality, inspect, and troubleshoot material, working closely with quality control and asphalt managerCalibrate plant for maximum efficiencyPerform daily equipment walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintainedDirect and/or perform maintenance and repairs on equipment.Troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to material, quality, equipment, and operation. Repair and eliminate or minimize the causes in the future by implementing preventative procedures.Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisorsDaily safety meetings and enforcing safety standardsHiring and training employees in all phases of production and equipmentCoach and monitor team members and sites to comply with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR, lockout/tagout, and safety and environmental regulation complianceApprove and submit work hours of personnel and pertinent job information dailyRecord pertinent information accurately and relay production, quality, equipment, and personnel information to appropriate individualsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation: Minimum High School Diploma. Technical school or similar with emphasis in heavy equipment for manufacturing helpful.Asphalt production knowledge: Minimum 2 yearsAbility to navigate computer software systemsCommunicate effectively (verbal, written, listening) and work with difficult people under high stress situationsSelf motivated, team player who has ability to maintain positive customer relations and be courteous/respectful of othersMust have valid license and clean driving recordMust pass a pre-employment drug screenAbility to travel.
