Controls Construction Technician III

A well-established, employee-owned building automation and controls contractor is actively seeking an experienced Controls Construction Technician III to join its growing team. Key Responsibilities
Install, program, test, calibrate, commission, and repair building automation and control systems.
Troubleshoot advanced control systems, low-voltage devices, and network communications.
Configure field devices and ensure proper system functionality.
Conduct functional testing and provide detailed reports to commissioning agents.
Analyze system performance data and resolve programming or operational deficiencies.
Create and modify graphics, databases, sequences, and control programming.
Build and troubleshoot control panels and related hardware.
Review and redline control drawings, submittals, and installation documentation.
Configure and troubleshoot BACnet MSTP, BACnet/IP, Modbus, LonWorks, and related protocols.
Coordinate with customer IT departments and project stakeholders.
Manage punch-list completion and support project closeout activities.
Identify potential change orders and communicate findings to project management.
Train end users on system operation and functionality.
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior technicians.
Coordinate subcontractors and ensure proper installation practices.
Maintain company tools, vehicles, and inventory.
Follow all company safety procedures, including Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Confined Space requirements.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of Controls Technician experience
Strong HVAC systems knowledge, including:
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Variable Air Volume (VAV) Systems
Fan-Powered Boxes
Rooftop Units (RTUs)
Experience troubleshooting low-voltage control systems
Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits
Ability to read and interpret
Blueprints
Wiring diagrams
Device data sheets
Experience utilizing testing and metering equipment
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based software
Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Certifications & Experience
Tridium AX/N4 Certification
Experience with

Schneider Electric
JCI
INET
Advanced programming and troubleshooting capabilities
Experience with access control and lighting control systems
