Rotating Equipment Packaging EngineerLocation: Houston, TX (or project-based travel) Company: F&C Engineers Industry: Energy Infrastructure / Oil & Gas / Power GenerationPosition OverviewF&C Engineers is seeking a Rotating Equipment Packaging Engineer to lead the design, integration, and delivery of packaged rotating equipment systems. This role focuses on compressors, pumps, turbines, and generator sets, with an emphasis on modularized and field-deployable solutions for oil & gas and power generation applications.You will be responsible for taking projects from concept through detailed design, fabrication, and commissioning—ensuring performance, reliability, and constructability.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and layout of packaged rotating equipment systems, including:Gas compressors (reciprocating and centrifugal)Pumps (API and specialty)Combustion turbines and generator setsDevelop GA drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models for skid-mounted and modular packagesDefine and specify auxiliary systems, including:Lube oil systemsFuel gas systemsCooling systems (air/oil/water)Filtration and separation systemsCoordinate with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure full system integrationInterface with OEMs and vendors (e.g., turbine, compressor, and package suppliers)Support equipment selection, sizing, and performance evaluationOversee fabrication, shop inspections, and FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests)Provide field support during installation, commissioning, and startupEnsure compliance with applicable standards (API, ASME, ANSI, etc.)Optimize designs for modularity, transportability, and rapid deploymentQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)5+ years of experience in rotating equipment or package engineeringStrong understanding of:Compressors, pumps, and turbinesSkid/package design and integrationPiping and mechanical systemsExperience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)Familiarity with API standards (API 610, 617, 618, 614, etc.)Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
