Job Summary
Support engineering design, project coordination, and execution for new and ongoing projects. This role works closely with the Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams to assist in delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The Junior Engineer will split time between PSW’s Chicago office and project sites, gaining hands‑on experience in both design and construction environments.
Core Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and review of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
Support project coordination by tracking schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Work with the Engineer Manager to resolve technical and construction‑related issues.
Participate in on‑site activities, including inspections, progress tracking, and contractor coordination.
Assist with procurement activities such as reviewing technical submittals and vendor documentation.
Maintain project documentation, including reports, meeting notes, and change tracking.
Contribute to capturing lessons learned and standardizing best practices across projects.
Prepare status updates, progress reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Materials, or related).
0–2 years of engineering or project experience (internships/co‑ops acceptable).
Basic knowledge of engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and project coordination principles.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Effective communication and ability to work in a team environment.
Willingness to travel and work on‑site as needed.
