Residents enjoy affordable living, top-rated schools, and access to beautiful outdoor recreation all within driving distance of Tallahassee and Albany.Overview:A 155-bed community-based teaching hospital in Southwest Georgia is seeking a full-time Anesthesiology/Critical Care Physician to join a dynamic and well-established anesthesia team. The position offers a unique blend of anesthesiology and critical care responsibilities, with strong multidisciplinary support and modern facilities.Position HighlightsSchedule: 26 weeks on / 26 weeks off (typically 7 on / 7 off, flexible by agreement with the anesthesia team)Coverage: Two anesthesiologists scheduled per shift; supervise CRNAs and AAsCall: Required during scheduled weeks; includes critical care call and anesthesiology backupICU: 10-bed open unit; consult-only model partnering with pulmonology and critical care physicians for daily roundsTechnology: New Mindray anesthesia machines, Glidescope for emergency airways, Belmont rapid infusers, and modern ultrasound systemsFacilities: 6 OR suites and 2 endoscopy suites within a state-of-the-art surgical departmentAcademic Involvement: Opportunities to precept medical students and residentsCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive guaranteed salary (commensurate with experience)Includes annual 3% cost-of-living adjustment as a W-2 hospital employeeGenerous student loan repayment assistancePaid health insurance (available in exchange for precepting residents and medical students)Paid malpractice insurance with tail coverageCME allowance and monthly cell phone stipendPaid relocation and house-hunting expensesOptional supplemental benefits, including retirement matchHolidays off (unless on call)Early commitment incentives for residents/fellows monthly stipend or signing bonusRequirementsCompletion or upcoming completion of an Anesthesiology Residency and Critical Care FellowshipBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology (must be certified within 5 years if eligible)Georgia Medical License or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure CompactCase MixBread-and-butter general anesthesia: nerve blocks, A-lines, epidurals, etc.No cardiac or neurosurgery casesApprox. 8 9 starts per day and 700 cases per month (including 200 endoscopies)OB services: 750 deliveries per yearExtensive robotic surgery program (4 Da Vinci 5 Surgical Robots, Mako Robot, C-arm, and more)
