By leveraging advanced satellite technology, the team is working toward a future where reliable, high-quality connectivity is accessible regardless of location.The Engineering organization is a multidisciplinary technology team focused on rapidly delivering targeted, scalable solutions for specialized customers across both space-based and terrestrial applications. The team collaborates closely with satellite constellation programs to provide seamless communication capabilities tailored to mission needs.We are seeking an experienced Production Manufacturing Engineer with strong Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) expertise supporting electrical systems and components in aerospace environments. You will work cross-functionally to architect, design, and implement scalable manufacturing processes and tools for space-based and terrestrial product solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesApply DFMA principles to electrical system designs including PCBs, wire harnesses, connectors, and avionics assemblies using IPC-610/620 standardsPartner with electrical design engineers and suppliers to optimize component selection, assembly flow, and manufacturing processesDevelop and implement electrical assembly processes such as soldering, crimping, potting, and conformal coatingCreate work instructions, process documentation, and quality control proceduresConduct design reviews to identify manufacturability risks in schematics, PCB layouts, and harness designsSupport supplier qualification and component selection activitiesImplement automated testing solutions including functional testing, continuity checks, and hi-pot testingDrive cost reduction through DFMA analysisEnsure compliance with aerospace electrical standards including AS9100 and IPC requirementsLead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for assembly defectsDevelop and maintain manufacturing BOMs, routings, and MES workflowsImplement SPC and quality control standardsSpecify and program assembly equipment and control systems, including PLC networking and protocolsImplement automated documentation and work-order systemsLead DFM/DFC reviews and support design release activitiesArchitect and validate manufacturing operations systems down to shop-floor workflowsTrack and report KPIs such as OEE, throughput, capacity utilization, OTD, and FPYManage non-conformances, anomalies, and defects while driving continuous improvement in high-rate production environmentsAbout the TeamThe Engineering organization is a multidisciplinary group focused on delivering scalable engineering solutions tailored to specialized customer requirements. The Integrated Engineering Solutions group supports the full lifecycle of engineering programs, including architecture development, requirements definition, assembly, integration and test (AI&T), verification, and operational support.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience5+ years developing manufacturing systems for space hardware or automotive programs5+ years in technical leadership roles standing up facilities or manufacturing operations5+ years planning and launching production environments3+ years developing operations control processes and documentationExperience supporting satellite communications payloads, spacecraft subsystems, or space vehicle programsDemonstrated experience processing and managing non-conformances (NCR/MRB), including root cause analysis and corrective action implementationExperience creating and managing manufacturing routings and work instructions within MES or ERP systemsStrong working knowledge and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)Preferred QualificationsStrong ownership mindset with the ability to deliver results with minimal directionExperience coordinating across engineering, supply chain, and production teamsBackground leading cross-functional groups of manufacturing, industrial, and test engineersExperience supporting multiple product development phasesProgramming or automation experience (Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, PLC protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet TCP/IP, CAN)Familiarity with space or military test standards (GEVS/SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-810, DO-160)Experience with RF and electrical test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and oscilloscopesKnowledge of calibration procedures and incoming inspection processesBroad exposure to satellite or space system design, integration, and testCAD (NX), PFMEA, and GD&T experienceOur benefits package includes:Comprehensive medical benefitsCompetitive pay401(k) retirement plan...and much more!About INSPYR SolutionsTechnology is our focus and quality is our commitment.
