Director, Technical Services

Job Summary The Director of Technical Services assists and supports our plant operations teams in their continuous improvement, innovation, and production efficiency efforts. Responsibilities also include covering Plant Manager or Maintenance Manager roles at any location on an interim basis or as needed. Essential Functions Provide technical development to existing plant staff. Troubleshoot & assist with the installation of new equipment and processes. Works closely with other senior-level leaders and plant leadership to troubleshoot, problem solve and resolve issues that prevent or limit operations from meeting expectations. Focus on methods to improve plant's overall equipment efficiency and capacity targets. Support the plants in meeting their safety, quality, production, and financial goals. Partner with engineering and maintenance on specific capital projects. Follow all safety and working rules. Work effectively in both union and non-union facilities. Perform other duties as assigned. Strong in the following leadership areas People Process Equipment/Systems Must demonstrate good judgement when carrying out duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience BS degree in Dairy Science, Engineering or other related areas and minimum 10 years in an operations, engineering, or maintenance role, or equivalent combination. Language Skills English is required as the written and spoken language. Additional languages are an asset. A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A Driving Requirements: N/A Equipment Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, gloves, and safety glasses must be used in the performance of duties. Proper lifting techniques must be employed at all times.
