Collections Specialist

Collections SpecialistWe are seeking a driven Collections Specialist to join our finance team in Northwest Houston. This role is responsible for managing outstanding customer balances, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients. The ideal candidate has experience in collections and accounts receivable, is comfortable working in a high-volume environment, and has experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.Collections & Account ManagementManage a portfolio of customer accounts and follow up on past-due invoicesContact customers via phone and email to secure payment and resolve outstanding balancesMaintain professional relationships while enforcing company payment termsDocument all collection activity and customer communications in SAP or internal systemsAccounts Receivable MonitoringReview AR aging reports to identify delinquent accountsPrioritize collection efforts based on aging and risk levelEscalate unresolved accounts and recommend next steps as neededPayment Research & ReconciliationInvestigate short payments, unapplied cash, and billing discrepanciesPartner with accounting to ensure accurate application of customer paymentsPerform account reconciliations and resolve account variancesDispute ResolutionCollaborate with billing, sales, and operations teams to resolve invoice disputesEnsure timely resolution of issues that may delay paymentTrack and document dispute status through resolutionReporting & Administrative SupportProvide updates on collection efforts and account statusSupport month-end close activities related to accounts receivableMaintain organized records of customer communications and payment activityIdentify opportunities to improve collections processes and efficiencyQualifications2+ years of collections or accounts receivable experience preferredExperience working with SAP or similar ERP systems preferredStrong Excel skills (data entry, basic formulas; pivot tables a plus)Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHow to ApplyIf you are an experienced Collections Specialist seeking an opportunity in Northwest Houston with a collaborative and growing team, we encourage you to apply.Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
