About the Opportunity
Nesco Resource is seeking a Structural Engineer (EIT) with 5 years of experience to support large‑scale industrial and energy infrastructure projects across the US. This is a long‑term contract opportunity working within a multi‑discipline engineering team on complex industrial facilities, including thermal and steam generation plants. This position is ideal for an engineer who has strong structural fundamentals, enjoys working in EPC or consulting environments, and is progressing toward PE licensure.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for industrial facilities, including steel structures, concrete systems, foundations, pipe racks, equipment supports, and platforms
Develop structural calculations and technical documentation in accordance with applicable codes and standards (AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, etc.)
Support structural deliverables from conceptual design through detailed engineering
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, piping, and process disciplines to ensure integrated project execution
Review vendor drawings and assist with construction support activities
Apply structural loading analysis including wind, seismic, and industrial equipment loading
Ensure quality and compliance with project specifications and client standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
5 years of structural engineering experience
Experience working for an EPC firm preferred , but engineering consulting firm experience is acceptable
Experience supporting industrial, energy, thermal facilities, or steam generation plants
Strong working knowledge of structural design codes and industry standards
Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Houston, TX
Preferred Qualifications
Progression toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or recently achieved
Experience supporting construction or field engineering activities
Familiarity with 3D design/model coordination environments
Experience in heavy industrial or power generation sectors
