This role involves sanding, grinding, polishing, inspecting workpieces, and ensuring products are ready for assembly, coating, or shipment.Key ResponsibilitiesSand, grind, and smooth surfaces of fabricated parts using hand tools, power sanders, and finishing equipment.Prepare materials by removing rough spots, excess material, sharp edges, and imperfections.Inspect finished pieces for quality, ensuring surfaces meet required specifications and customer standards.Perform detailed finishing work including polishing, smoothing edges, and preparing components for paint, coating, or assembly.Read and follow job orders, drawings, and work instructions to determine required finish levels.Maintain and clean sanding tools, equipment, and workstations.Ensure all finished parts meet internal quality and consistency standards before moving to the next production stage.Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE requirements, safe tool operation, and proper material handling.Report defects, material issues, or equipment problems to supervisors promptly.Assist other team members with production tasks as needed.RequirementsPrevious experience in sanding, finishing, metal/wood/plastic preparation, or similar manufacturing work preferred.Ability to use hand tools, power sanders, grinders, and finishing equipment safely and effectively.Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize defects or surface inconsistencies.Ability to read and follow basic job instructions, production sheets, or blueprints.Capable of standing for long periods and lifting 3050 lbs as required.Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Skills & CompetenciesManual dexterity and steady hand-eye coordinationKnowledge of surface preparation techniquesBasic mechanical aptitudeStrong quality-control mindsetAbility to work in a fast-paced production environment
