Salary Range: depends on experience and level of role: $140K - $200K + potential bonusRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Developer / Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern, cloud-based data platforms that power analytics, visualization, and business intelligence solutions. This role is backend-heavy with a strong focus on ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, AWS services, and analytics engineering, paired with front-end visualization using Tableau and Power BI. You will work across the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation to visualization and release management—delivering secure, scalable, high-performance data solutions. You will collaborate closely with product, analytics, and business stakeholders in an agile environment to deliver data-driven applications that support healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and consulting use cases. Experience working in regulated environments or with large healthcare systems is strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesData Platform & Pipeline DevelopmentDesign, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as AWS Glue, Databricks, and DBT.Develop and manage scalable backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and serverless architectures.Ensure high data quality, reliability, performance, and security across all pipelines and platforms.Support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.Data Visualization & AnalyticsDevelop and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau and Power BI.Partner with business users to translate analytical needs into actionable insights and visualizations.Enable self-service analytics through well-designed data models and semantic layers.Architecture & IntegrationDesign API-enabled backend integrations and data services aligned with enterprise architecture standards.Implement secure, compliant, and maintainable solutions that meet healthcare and regulatory requirements.DevOps, Release Management & OperationsSupport development and production environments across DEV, QA, STAGING, and PROD.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools.Implement monitoring, automation, and operational best practices to ensure system reliability.Agile CollaborationWork within an agile development environment, partnering with product owners and cross-functional teams.Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, release management, and continuous improvement efforts.Testing & QualityDesign and implement automated testing frameworks and data validation strategies.Ensure software quality, data accuracy, and operational reliability.Leadership (Lead / Principal / Sr. Principal Levels)Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best-practice guidance to junior engineers.Drive innovation, architectural improvements, and analytics modernization initiatives.Collaborate with stakeholders to align data engineering efforts with business goals.Required QualificationsExperience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting environments, or experience working with large healthcare systems or regulated industries – MUST HAVEAWS CloudData pipeline development (ETL / ELT): AWS Glue, Databricks, DBTServerless backend development: AWS Lambda, API GatewayData warehousing & Business Intelligence (BI)Frontend visualization: Tableau, Power BIAgile development methodologiesCI/CD & DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, KubernetesIT security best practices and data complianceCRM platform experienceRelease management experienceEducation & ExperienceAssociate degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 11+ years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 9+ years of experienceMaster's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 7+ years of experienceOr 11+ years of equivalent business or IT experienceMinimum 6+ years of hands-on programming experience preferredPreferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsFamiliarity with machine learning or advanced analytics integrationFunctional programming experienceSoft Skills & AttributesStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsAnalytical mindset with attention to data quality and reliabilityAdaptable, growth-oriented, and eager to expand technical and leadership skillsComfortable mentoring and guiding other engineers
