Job Description: Lead customer-facing implementation tasks — Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during data interface setup, coordinating with their EHR/Optime, interface, and reporting teams to meet project milestones. Execute data validation and testing — Build and run test scripts to validate HL7 interfaces (SIU messages), report-based data feeds (e.g., Epic Reporting Workbench, Clarity scheduled/logged case reports, block schedule and release files), and other data sources. Monitor production interfaces — Track active customer data feeds for variances (e.g., new surgical service lines, unmapped procedures) and outages (e.g., missing fields, dropped messages), escalating and resolving issues proactively. Support new customer onboarding — Coordinate the technical data integration workstream for new implementations, including staging environment setup, endpoint testing, and production go-live QA. Maintain documentation and processes — Create and maintain customer-specific data configuration documents, test plans, runbooks, and interface specifications. Collaborate cross-functionally — Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to relay data availability questions, surface limitations (e.g., real-time vs. nightly batch data), and inform the product roadmap with implementation insights. Support scoping of new data sources — Assist in evaluating alternative data sources such as ADT feeds, orders interfaces, and Epic APIs as Apella expands its data platform.Requirements: 2–4 years of experience in healthcare technology, EHR integrations, or a related implementation/technical operations role. Familiarity with electronic health records — experience with Epic (e.g., OpTime, Radiant, Cupid, Bridges, Reporting Workbench, Clarity) and/or Cerner/Oracle Health is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 (SIU, ADT) and familiarity with interface engines. Comfort working with data — ability to compare, validate, and troubleshoot scheduling data across systems using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or SQL-based reporting tools (e.g., Metabase, Hex). Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer implementations simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you'll be the person our customers hear from regularly on implementation progress. A collaborative, detail-oriented mindset with a bias toward proactive problem-solving. Experience creating and maintaining test plans, project plans, or technical documentation.Benefits: Competitive salary and stock options Flexible vacation policy and a culture that values time for rest and recharging Remote-first work environment with unique virtual and in-person events to foster team connection Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance—we're a healthcare company that prioritizes your health 16 weeks of parental leave for all parents
