Skip ahead and take the next step—apply Vaccines Facility & Manufacturing Strategy Advisor Location: Remote (Global) Type: Contract or Advisory Overview: LunaVax is building the future of local vaccine manufacturing in Africa. As our Vaccines Facility & Manufacturing Strategy Advisor, you’ll help shape the foundational blueprint for scalable, end-to-end production — from modular fill/finish operations to potential upstream integration in the future. You’ll play a key role in advising on facility scope, design, cost modeling, and technology transfer pathways. Your insights will help align our infrastructure planning with LunaVax’s long-term goals of sustainable and flexible vaccine production. Responsibilities: Guide decisions on facility scope, size, modular design, and technology selection (e.g., SUT, MAPs, sterile fill, and upstream integration potential) Lead early cost-of-goods (COG), CAPEX, and facility timeline estimation for scalable production Assess potential technology transfer partners and their alignment with LunaVax’s long-term production goals Advise on GMP compliance, scalable workflows, and innovations in modular and hybrid manufacturing Collaborate with our partnerships teams to align infrastructure planning for phased growth Support long-term infrastructure planning by contributing to facility roadmaps that evolve from pilot phases to scalable, end-to-end production Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in vaccine manufacturing, plant design, or bioprocess engineering Deep knowledge of SUT systems, modular vaccine facilities, and fill/finish tech Experience working on WHO prequalification or similar regulatory frameworks Demonstrated success supporting early-stage manufacturing projects or tech transfer initiatives What You'll Gain: A defining role in launching Africa’s next-generation vaccine manufacturing platform The opportunity to shape GMP innovation and infrastructure from the ground up Direct influence on facility design that supports both fill/finish and upstream scalability Collaboration with global partners and local health stakeholders Advisory flexibility with potential for expanded involvement post-funding Compensation: Consulting fee or milestone-based structure, negotiable based on experience and engagement level.
