Position: Teaching Aide
Location: SARA Early Learning Center – Rural Tennessee
SARA Early Learning Center is a nonprofit preschool committed to nurturing early literacy, school readiness, and joyful learning in rural Tennessee. We are currently hiring Teaching Aides to support our educators in creating a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment for children ages 2–5.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and wants to grow in the field of early childhood education. As a Teaching Aide, you’ll play a vital role in the daily rhythm of the classroom—helping with activities, routines, and providing care that supports every child’s development.
Key Responsibilities
Support Daily Activities: Assist lead and assistant teachers with classroom activities, story time, learning centers, meals, and play.
Encourage Children: Engage with children in a positive, respectful way that promotes curiosity, independence, and early literacy.
Assist with Routines: Help with transitions, naptime, toileting, and hygiene in a safe and age-appropriate manner.
Create a Welcoming Environment: Help maintain a clean, organized, and calm space where children feel secure and supported.
Be a Team Player: Work collaboratively with teaching staff, stepping in where needed and following classroom plans.
Observe & Report: Share observations of student behavior and needs with the lead teacher to support individualized care.
Model Kindness & Respect: Lead by example in speech, behavior, and attitude with both children and adults.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or experience in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
Previous experience working with young children (babysitting, volunteering, or professional) preferred.
Reliable, nurturing, and willing to learn from experienced educators.
Ability to follow directions, manage time, and stay calm in a busy environment.
CPR & SIDS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Clear background check and ability to meet licensing requirements.
Strong communication skills and a love for working with children.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $18.00 per hour
