Spring Setup Operator / Apprentice (2nd Shift) Location: Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 2nd Shift We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and train alongside an experienced Spring Setup Operator. This role offers hands-on exposure to CNC spring manufacturing, machine setup, troubleshooting, and production processes. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, mechanically inclined, and interested in building a long-term career in manufacturing. Responsibilities Assist with setup and operation of CNC spring forming equipment Learn compression and engine valve spring manufacturing processes Perform machine adjustments, troubleshooting, and quality checks Read and follow production documentation and work instructions Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area Qualifications 3-5 years of manufacturing, machining, mechanical, or CNC experience Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to be coached Team-oriented with a hands-on approach to problem solving What We're Looking For We are seeking an individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to develop technical expertise in manufacturing. Previous experience with CNC equipment, machine setup, machining, tooling, maintenance, or other hands-on manufacturing processes is beneficial but not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to learn new processes and apply technical instruction Basic understanding of manufacturing drawings, measurements, and specifications Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement Dependability, professionalism, and a positive team-oriented attitude Interest in developing long-term technical skills within a manufacturing environment Comprehensive hands-on training will be provided in spring manufacturing, machine setup, tooling, process control, and production operations.
