Facilities Technician

This position will travel to Brixmor’s portfolio of shopping centers in the Naples, Florida region. The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the property operates at the highest standards required under lease agreements and industry best practices. This position supports the Property Manager in delivering essential services that protect asset value, maintain compliance, and enhance the tenant and customer experience. By coordinating maintenance activities, partner with vendors to ensure performance standards are met, and assisting with capital projects, the Facilities Technician helps fulfill obligations outlined in leases and ensures the property remains safe, clean, and fully functional for all occupants.Responsibilities:Assist the Property Manager in coordinating property improvements and vendor services (landscaping, parking lot sweeping, cleaning, and general construction trades) to maintain Class A standards and meet lease requirementsPerform routine cleaning and maintenance of buildings and parking areas to ensure common areas remain neat, safe, and inviting for tenants and customersConduct evening lighting inspections to maintain security and operational continuityContribute to preventative maintenance planning to reduce risk, liability, and unexpected costsSupport tenant and community events to enhance property value and engagementEnsure compliance with ADA, environmental regulations, and all applicable building and construction codesMonitor energy usage and implement conservation measures to control operating expensesServe as a responsive point of contact for tenants, addressing issues promptly to minimize disruption and maintain satisfactionMaintain accurate tenant and vendor contact information and utility records for operational efficiencyAssist with tenant move-in and move-out processes, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to lease obligationsMonitor contractor and tenant work on critical systems (roof, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection) to safeguard property integrityUtilize technology to document property conditions and communicate updates effectivelyFoster positive relationships with city officials to support compliance and community goodwillRequired Skills & Experience:A two-year technical certification or Associate Degree is preferred, but practical experience will be consideredA minimum of three years of broad-based property maintenance or facility maintenance experience with time in the military and/or at a commercial/open air shopping center preferredAbility to work the hours necessary to support and maintain assigned property(ies).
