The ideal candidate will have experience teaching beginner-level computing skills in an adult or community education setting. This course is designed for students with little to no prior computer experience.The instructor will foster a supportive learning environment, adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs, and help students build confidence in using technology for personal, academic, and professional purposes.Course OverviewBasic Computer ApplicationsThis 8-week evening course (2 hours per session) will introduce adult learners to essential computer skills, including:Understanding computer hardware and software basicsNavigating the Windows operating systemCreating, saving, and organizing documents and filesWorking with Microsoft Word (basic editing, formatting, saving)Introduction to Microsoft Excel (creating simple spreadsheets, entering data, basic formulas)Tips for responsible and safe use of technologyLearners should leave the course feeling more confident using everyday computer applications for work, school, and life.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and deliver lesson plans aligned with course goalsProvide clear instruction and support for basic computing conceptsUse a variety of instructional strategies to engage adult learnersAssess student progress and provide meaningful feedbackMaintain attendance and participation recordsCommunicate effectively with program staffQualificationsRequired:Demonstrated experience teaching adult learnersStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience and ability to support learners with varied skill levelsPreferredExperience teaching in at high school or community education/adult education settingFamiliarity with adult learning principlesExeter Adult EducationExeter Adult Education offers a wide range of programs to support lifelong learners in the Seacoast region.
