Mobile Diesel Technician (Founding New Orleans Tech)

Job Description Help Us Launch a New Market!Transwest Mobile Truck Repair is expanding into Louisiana, and this role is one of our key first hires in the market. This technician will operate with a high level of independence and trust, represent the company directly with customers, and help establish the standard for service quality, professionalism, and reliability in the region.This is not a role for someone who needs constant oversight. We are looking for a true all-around professional; a senior mobile diesel technician who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly with customers, and understands what it means to be the face of a growing operation.If you enjoy autonomy, ownership, and being relied upon to "do it right the first time," this role was built for you.What You'll DoServe as the primary mobile diesel technician supporting customers throughout the New Orleans areaPerform advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and drivetrainsWork independently in the field, managing your daily workload, service priorities, and customer interactionsDiagnose complex mechanical issues using scan tools, service manuals, and hands-on expertiseCommunicate directly with fleet managers and customers, providing clear explanations, repair recommendations, and professional service updatesComplete scheduled and unscheduled repairs safely, efficiently, and with minimal supervisionMaintain accurate service documentation, work orders, and inspection recordsOperate cranes and specialized equipment as needed to complete repairsHelp establish best practices and service standards as the Baton Rouge operation growsAct as a trusted representative of Transwest Mobile in a new marketWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED5+ years of hands-on diesel technician experience, preferably in mobile or field service environmentsStrong diagnostic capability across diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain componentsProven ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the fieldProfessional, customer-focused communication skillsHigh level of integrity, reliability, and personal accountabilityAbility to supply your own basic hand tools appropriate for the roleValid driver's license and clean driving record (company vehicle provided)Ability to pass background screeningPhysically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor and shop environmentsPreferred QualificationsASE certifications or OEM training (Cummins, Detroit, Freightliner, etc.)Prior experience serving as a lead tech, senior tech, or primary field technicianExperience building or maintaining long-term customer relationshipsStrong organizational skills and comfort managing service flow independentlyExperience representing a company directly with fleet managers or jobsite leadershipWhy Transwest MobileFoundational Role: Be the first technician in a new market and help shape how we operate locallyAutonomy & Trust: High level of independence with leadership support when neededGrowth Opportunity: Clear path to expanded responsibility as the Baton Rouge operation growsStrong Support: Backed by an established organization with over 25 years of mobile service expertiseBenefits Include:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k)Health Savings Account with company matchLife and Disability InsurancePaid Holidays & PTOOvertime opportunitiesWork boot allowance, uniforms, and cleaning serviceCompany vehicle for mobile serviceReferral bonus programAbout Transwest MobileSince 2009, Transwest Mobile has delivered reliable, high-quality mobile fleet repair services across multiple states.
