Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewThe Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing specialized procedures using sterile techniques and specialized equipment.What you will do- Schedules procedures and appropriate patient preparations, prepares, positions and instructs patients and adjusts equipment for procedures.- Familiar with a wide variety of diagnostic and intervention procedures and oversees/coordinates with nursing staff, scrub techs and other techs or students throughout exam.- Produces satisfactory images via digital imaging or hard film and presents them satisfactorily for radiologist interpretation.- Maintains, orders, and evaluates products used for procedures.- Demonstrates high level of patient care skills to assist nursing staff with caring for critically ill patients.- Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Radiology Department, Quality Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines and others as required.- Able to monitor all Hemodynamics during procedures.- Understands human vasculature including cerebral circulation and anticipates the needs of the Physician supplies, equipment and medications as needed while maintaining a sterile environment.- Possesses the ability to comprehend and interpret complex clinical subject matter related to the specialty.- Demonstrates the ability to analyze data and formulate an appropriate plan of action and demonstrates critical thinking skills.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
