Division: Steel Dynamics Overview:
Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in the facility. Works closely with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals. Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Good communication skills with an ability to work in a team environment
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and repair
React to emergency breakdowns
Help maintenance supervisor with projects
Qualifications:
Requirements
Work 4 days on 4 days off/ 4 nights on 4 nights off rotation
Previous mechanical experience, 2 years minimum
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, grease systems, gearing, gear/shaft alignment, rigging, bearings, couplings, and precision measuring instruments
Fabrication skills that include torching, welding, and blueprint reading
Self-motivated
Preferred
Proficient in comprehending hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
Computer skills to include Word and Excel
