JR Industrial Designer
Junior Industrial DesignerLow Pressure Studio, home to some of the leading brands in the snowboard industry, is looking for a full-time Junior Industrial Designer to join our expanding product innovation hub in Waterbury, Vermont. The ideal candidate is an Industrial Designer who shares our passion for design, gear, and a love of snowboarding.
The Junior Industrial Designer will report to the Product Design Director and work in tight coordination with the Industrial Designer on our boot and bindings categories only for all of the Low Pressure Studio brands.
Core Responsibilities:Participate and assist in concept development through sketching, prototyping, and modeling (SolidWorks).
Execute design detailing and technical packages as assigned from team members
Refine product designs through multiple prototyping phases as instructed
Generate concepts through brainstorming and other creative processes
Create sketches, renderings, mock-ups, prototypes, 3D modeling or other representations of the design as appropriate to each specific project
With the help of the team, select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes and apply these specs to techpacks using Adobe Illustrator
Work closely with the design team leads to ensure the selected vendor is building parts and products to follow the design intent
Follow and adhere to the timeline requirements of the assigned project
Present project status in regular design reviews
Process design change orders in a timely and accurate manner with care and detail
Research new materials and technologies for potential use in boots and bindings
Travel domestically and internationally to conduct research, work with vendors, attend tradeshows and other job-related functions may be required
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:Education: MUST hold a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design
Work ExperienceRequired: Internship or post-graduation experience
Preferred: 1-2 years post-graduation experienceMUST have excellent skills in the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, Microsoft office
Have an aesthetic sense of detail and an eye for proportions and scale
Extremely detail oriented, with strong organizational capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Possess the ability to work independently and to be self-motivated
Solid knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
Strong ideation and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate your ideas through quick sketches as well as verbally
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to follow briefs to deliver designs that adhere to target prices
Ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet concurrent deadlines
Willingness to embrace snowboarding as part of your lifestyle if it already isn't a part of it
To be Successful in this role you must:Demonstrate a track record of creative, compelling designs
Demonstrate the ability to sketch, concept, create renderings and model products in a way that clearly communicates design intent and function
Demonstrate a growing knowledge of materials and design
Show the ability to conduct research, present project status, communicate clearly, meet deadlines, use word processing, spreadsheets, email, and other basic computer skills
Show openness for collaborate with all team members and a willingness to learn and grow

This job is full time and in person, located in our Waterbury, VT office. We work in a laid back and creative environment, 30 minutes from Stowe, Sugarbush and Bolton resorts.
