Using digital scanners and other top-notch, modern equipment, dock and warehouse associates manage the day-to-day loading/unloading of freight throughout our system in a safe and professional atmosphere. Due to the familiarity of overall Averitt culture and processes, many dock and warehouse workers become top candidates for operational leadership positions. This position requires a Class A CDL Why Choose Averitt? Competitive Pay: Average $1,188 per week / $61,776 per year Starting pay: $23 per hour Top pay: $24 per hour reached within 30 days Additional Pay: Stop Pay: $25 per stop (Average 5-7 stops per week) Loading/unloading pay: $25 per stop Detention and breakdown pay available Average 50-60 hours per week Work Schedule: Home daily Monday - Saturday; 6 a.m. - 3 p.m. Job Responsibilities: Primarily operating a forklift (90%) and acting as a fill-in driver as needed when drivers are on vacation, out sick, short runs, etc. (10%) Coverage area as fill-in driver: Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana Maintain and operate a heavy-duty four-wheel forklift to load, unload, and stage portable storage units Adhere to safety and equipment maintenance regulations Attention to detail to ensure trailers are loaded correctly Work in inclement weather (hot in summer, cold in winter) May be required to use computer to access customer website; to print driver paperwork (as needed basis only).
