System Administrator

The team combines deep domain knowledge, technical excellence, and a customer-first mindset to help clients achieve operational efficiency, resilience, and sustainable growth.Role Description The System Administrator contract role is a hybrid position based in Lansing, MI, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure to ensure stable and secure IT operations. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system performance, applying patches and updates, managing user accounts and access controls, and maintaining backup and recovery processes. The System Administrator will troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate with network and security teams, support end users, and document configurations and procedures. The role may also assist in implementing new systems, participating in upgrades and migrations, and contributing to process improvements aligned with organizational standards.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including managing servers, operating systems, and configuration management.Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose, resolve, and document hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.Candidates should possess Network Administration skills, including basic routing, switching, firewall rules, and connectivity monitoring.Candidates should possess core Information Technology skills, including familiarity with security best practices, backup and recovery, and IT service management processes.Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar) is beneficial.Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, or other system administration credentials are a plus.Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
