For more information about our on-campus housing, visit https://seminolelandingfsu.com/.ResponsibilitiesAssists with maintenance of buildings, including windows, doors, furnishings, drywall, painting, construction, trash and debris removal, and cleaning of all areas; provides set-ups for special functions both on and off campus.Performs general cleaning and grounds maintenance around buildings, parking areas, drives, and other campus areas; operates mowers, edgers, fertilizer spreaders, spray rig, tractor, and weed trimmer as necessary to maintain law areas; plants trees, maintains roadways, parking areas, and fencing. Maintains exterior sprinkler systems, makes repairs to water pipes and sprinkler heads.Performs routine maintenance of all groundskeeping equipment, mowers, tractors, edgers, other lawn equipment, and tools. Assists in HVAC routine preventive maintenance, special projects, emergency repairs, cleaning, adjusting of machinery, cleaning equipment rooms; assists in repair of piping for water and sewer systems; assists in other duties as directed by supervisor.QualificationsCompletion of 9th grade.A valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of general safety practices (OSHA awareness).OSHA 10 or 30 certification.Trade-related certifications (entry-level HVAC, electrical, or plumbing).HelpfulDuring The First Three Months, The Maintenance Support Worker Will Receive Structured, Hands-on Training To Build Familiarity With Campus Systems, Tools, And Safety Procedures. The Selected Candidate Will Work Closely With Their Supervisor And Department Head ToParticipate in guided training sessions on university equipment, facilities, and standard operating procedures. Shadow experienced staff to learn daily workflows and preventative maintenance practices.Gain an understanding of department safety protocols and compliance requirements.Take on progressively more independent assignments with ongoing support and feedback.Establish strong working relationships with team members and campus partners.
