Job Title: Cloud ArchitectLocation: Austin, TXEmployment Type: Contract (12+ Months)Work Mode: Onsite/HybridNote: An in-person interview is required.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to support the engineering, automation, deployment, and operational management of the client's Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environment.The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership and hands-on support related to OpenShift infrastructure, cloud platforms, containerized applications, and DevOps practices. This role will also support application migration and modernization initiatives, including migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads.Required Skills and ExperienceExtensive experience designing, deploying, and providing operational support for Red Hat OpenShift infrastructure.Strong experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) versions 4.6 through the latest stable version.Extensive knowledge of Linux containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application and microservices architectures.Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).Experience working with technologies such as Java, JBoss, Nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures.Strong experience migrating and refactoring applications into containerized workloads.Hands-on experience with configuration management and scripting technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and/or Python.Experience provisioning and managing multi-node, highly available (HA) clusters.Experience with cluster monitoring, performance testing, and application deployment.Strong experience with automated deployment and infrastructure automation tools.Deep understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, methodologies, and best practices.Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, or comparable technologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical issues through written, verbal, and digital communication.Working knowledge of networking concepts, including protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and related technologies.Willingness and ability to document processes, share knowledge, and train other team members.Ability to work effectively with evolving technologies and adapt to the latest stable versions of relevant platforms and tools.Preferred QualificationsExperience with VMware technologies, including vCenter, vRA, and vRO.Experience deploying and managing OpenShift on bare-metal infrastructure.Working knowledge of SSL certificate management.Experience working in Agile environments, including Kanban, stand-ups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.Strong awareness of industry standards, emerging technologies, and evolving cloud and containerization practices.Experience with container- and pod-level monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace and QRadar.Experience working with IBM Cloud and/or AWS.
