JOB SUMMARY
The IT Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software systems through comprehensive testing strategies and disciplined quality assurance practices. This role designs and executes both manual and automated test plans to validate new and existing functionality against established requirements, while identifying defects and risks prior to deployment. Through close collaboration with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders, the QA Analyst helps deliver stable, high-quality solutions that align with organizational needs.
In this role, the IT QA Analyst plays a key part in continuous improvement efforts by reviewing system logs, monitoring production performance indicators, and contributing feedback during product design and requirements discussions. The position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to balance technical rigor with a service-focused mindset. This role supports the organization’s commitment to delivering dependable technology solutions for both internal and external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, scripts, and procedures to validate system requirements.
Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality continues to meet established standards following system changes.
Facilitate user acceptance testing by partnering with stakeholders to identify issues that may block deployment approval.
Design testing programs that address database impacts, software scenarios, usability, negative testing, and defect retesting.
Plan and manage testing schedules aligned with project scope, timelines, and delivery milestones.
Test system enhancements and modifications to verify functionality against defined acceptance criteria prior to implementation.
Review system logs and production data to identify processing errors and potential quality issues.
Document software defects using a bug-tracking tool such as Jira and communicate findings to developers and project managers.
Track defect resolution efforts and verify fixes to ensure successful outcomes.
Collaborate closely with development and product teams by contributing input during design reviews and validating business process changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
1 to 3 years of experience in a quality assurance or software testing role.
Experience with manual and automated testing methodologies and tools (such as Selenium or BrowserStack).
Familiarity with Microsoft-based technologies including IIS, .NET, and SQL Server.
Exposure to eCommerce platforms, ERP systems (such as M3), or enterprise business systems is preferred.
Experience supporting systems tied to core business functions such as finance, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, customer order management, or PLM is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business processes, systems, and data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams to gather requirements and communicate testing status.
Clear written and verbal communication skills to document findings and share information across the organization.
Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to approach quality challenges with a structured, solutions-oriented mindset.
