CAD (Civil 3D) Technician - PipelinesAs part of the Water Design Center (WDC) in Greenville, South Carolina, the CAD (Civil 3D) Technician - Pipelines will be responsible for developing civil engineering designs in support of various water/wastewater pipeline projects for Garver's Water Business Line. Diversity in high-volume custom projects will allow this designer the opportunity to be hands-on with detailed design, collaborate with teams of designers and engineers and produce high-quality work in a rapidly growing business line.The Civil Technician will provide civil engineering technical and design support as required for a variety of projects related primarily to developing pipeline corridor design plans and profiles. Other projects may include pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures associated with water and sewer infrastructure projects as well as other civil engineering related projects. The designer will be tasked with modeling, layout and profiling of piping networks and plans using gravity and pressure networks with Civil 3D. Other tasks may include other site/civil related design work as assigned. The civil technician will be responsible for coordination with other support discipline activities, other designers and engineers, quantity estimating, and quality assurance and control.Responsibilities may include but not limited to:Coordination of survey servicesDeveloping detailed plans and detailsQuality program compliance: ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver standardization.Civil standards and tools development, procurement, and training Candidates must have the ability to perform the following routine functions:Accurately complete drawings based on markups and detailed directionOrganizing drawing structures and files based on company standardsAdhering to layering standards, line types, line widths, and plot stylesGenerating plan and profile drawings complete with station numberingUtilizing gravity and pressure pipe networksDeveloping cross sections, Calculating volume and plan quantitiesReading and taking information from as-built drawings to develop existing condition modelsGenerating coordinates, boundary information, and survey informationBeing consistent in design procedures across a variety of projects, producing record drawings About Garver's Greenville Water Design Center:The Greenville Water Design Center is a knowledge-based hub that excels in highly technical, multi-discipline water and wastewater designs for locations all across the Garver footprint.
