Locum Tenens Trauma Surgeon Needed Near Afton, IA (j-195065) Seeking a Qualified and Experienced Trauma Surgeon Are you a dedicated and highly skilled Trauma Surgeon passionate about providing critical care in emergency situations? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Afton, IA. This locum tenens opportunity offers 12-hour in-house call coverage, starting as soon as possible (ASAP). Responsibilities: Provide on-call trauma surgical coverage, responding to a variety of trauma cases and emergencies. Perform a range of trauma-related surgical procedures as needed. Collaborate with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Hospital (Cerner) and Clinic (AllScripts) electronic medical record systems. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in trauma surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Iowa (IA) medical license is required. Board certification in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care is mandatory. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is required. Minimum of two years of experience in a trauma surgery setting is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in trauma surgery. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment. Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment with on-call responsibilities. Additional Considerations: This locum tenens opportunity requires 12-hour in-house call shifts, either from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am. The ideal candidate will have experience managing a variety of trauma cases and be comfortable with a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
