A nonprofit education network in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their growing team. About the Opportunity:Schedule: Monday to FridayHours: 8:30am to 3pm (6.5 hours per day; 30 minute lunch)Student Population: Special Education paired with visually impaired 126 studentsResponsibilities: The Occupational Therapist (OT) will: Evaluate the student's ability and formulates the student's occupational therapy profile through a variety of functional, behavioral and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories and interviewsPlan and implemented medically prescribed Occupational Therapy treatment program for each student assignedEnsure that students receive occupational therapy, individual and/or group as indicated by the Individual Educational Plan (IEP)Develop and write appropriate Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for each student based on needs and evaluation resultsIntegrate occupational therapy treatment program into the comprehensive student educational planActively contribute to team planning and staffing meetings by sharing information with other staff members and using their input to formulate comprehensive and integrated plans for studentsOrder and maintain special equipment and supplies as neededDocument and maintain log of all interventions recommended for use by the occupational therapist along with monitoring of expected outcomesComplete assigned paperwork as per the due dates stated by the program administratorPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy (New graduates encouraged to apply!)Initial certification by the National Board for Certification of Occupational TherapyCurrent NYS Occupational Therapist (OT) license
