Department: HousekeepingReports to: Housekeeping ManagerStatus: Hourly Non-exemptCompensation: $18-20/hr.Additional Requirements: Must have open/flexible availabilityRole Summary:The Houseperson sets the pace for the day, through assisting the room attendants, responding to guest requests, and ensuring the hotel corridors are clean and well-maintained. The houseperson is expected to continue the responsibility of providing a luxurious guest experience.Daily Assignments:Daily assignments may include but are not limited to the following: Maintaining back of house landings and storage closets, stocking landings, delivering/answering guest requests, stripping rooms of linen and garbage, collecting dirty linen for laundry, clearing hallways of debris or trash, assisting room attendants in their daily needs, shampooing carpets, sweeping, mopping, cleaning back of house areas.Responsibilities:Greet and acknowledge all guestsAttend pre-shift meetings, annual training sessionsAssist room attendants in stocking carts and any supplies needed for the dayStock landings with supplies, linen, etc.Remove trash, dirty linen, dirty rags from landingsSweep and mop landings and back of house officesDeliver clean linens to the landingsWash/dry glasses from guest roomsDeliver guest requestsRemove trace items from guestroomsTake all housekeeping trash to dumpsterShampoo carpets as neededMaintain clean landings and electrical closetsPut away department deliveriesKeep track of inventory for landingsReport any deficiencies in guestroomsFollow hotel policies and proceduresMay assist in other areas of housekeeping as neededThis job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform.Minimum Qualifications:EducationMust be able to speak and understand English.Basic reading, writing, and math skillsExperienceMust have janitorial or housekeeping experienceLuxury hotel experience preferredSkillsAbility to follow instructionAble to work alone as well as being a team playerGood communication skills when interacting with guests and other associatesAbility works a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to pickup shifts on short noticeMust be honest and dependable and help maintain a positive work environmentAbility to work with little to no supervision while meeting high performance standardsMust be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills and time managementPhysical RequirementsCarrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to push/pull large weight objects more than 150 poundsFrequent standing and moving about the facilityFrequently handling objects and equipment to maintain facilityFrequent bending, stooping, kneelingBenefits Offered: The employer offers the following benefits to eligible employees in this position.
