Senior Teacher

Maintain a safe learning environment for students within the scope of the Arrow Center for Education administrative policies and procedures. Provide direct instruction to students either in a pull-out class or as a classroom role model in the event of instructional team vacancies. Participate in the hiring process of instructional and resource staff. Provide and document mentorship to teachers and practicum students according to policy and/or practicum requirements. Support teachers in the leadership of their classroom teams. Conduct non-evaluation instructional observations and co-teaching activities. Conduct staff development training, according to identified needs. Teach, model, and support the implementation of instructional best practices. Assist in the assessment, design and implementation of the professional development program. Assist in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture. Maintain proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary. Manage library, media center, instructional materials and technology resources of the school. Inform the Principal of all relevant situations. Attend trainings and meetings as required. Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards. May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.QualificationsMust hold a valid state specific Standard Professional Teaching License. At least 3 years of teaching experience in special education with emotionally disturbed students and at least 1 year of progressive supervisory experience preferred.
