Roadway Project Engineer

Join our team and you will help provide engineering solutions on major infrastructure improvements across the Midwest for various DOT's, counties, and municipalities.The Project Engineer plays a significant role in the development of preliminary engineering studies and reports and the preparation of design plans and specifications. The Project Engineer serves as a project’s technical lead in their area of expertise (roadway, structural, water resources, or electrical). The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager on coordination with other disciplines. Tasks performed require broad knowledge of engineering fundamentals with moderate immediate supervision needed. The Project Engineer may work on several small projects at one time, reporting to the assigned Project Manager.Responsibilities:Preparation of project reports, preliminary engineering design, preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimatesThe candidate will supervise other engineers and technicians to achieve completion of project plansWork closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projectsReview and checking of engineering work completed by othersMaintaining positive client relationshipsMentor staff engineersPosition Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering8-12 years of roadway design experienceIllinois Professional Engineer (PE) licenseStrong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projectsMicroStation and OpenRoads proficiencyExperience on Illinois DOT and / or Illinois Tollway projectsExperience on Illinois County or Illinois Local Agency projects a plus
