Reliability Engineer (Electrical)
Overview
As a Reliability Engineer, you will drive asset reliability and maintenance strategy optimization to enhance equipment performance. You’ll develop and execute the site’s 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan, using advanced reliability methods to reduce risk and uptime losses. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement EMS for critical and BOP equipment and lead data-driven reliability improvements. ResponsibilitiesConduct equipment criticality screening and risk analysis to prioritize assets and BOP equipmentDevelop and implement Asset Strategies aligned with criticality and business goalsSupport the 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan including availability tracking and performance improvementSelect and implement Risk Management and Failure Management Strategies; develop EMS for critical and BOP equipmentOptimize Preventive Maintenance programs with PPM Coordinator; evaluate effectiveness and remove low-value activitiesIncorporate vendor data, RCM methods, and historical trends into maintenance planningEnsure proper spare parts inclusion and storage to maintain asset integrityEvaluate condition monitoring technologies to enhance asset performanceDocument maintenance data in CMMS for data-driven decisionsMonitor reliability metrics and production loss data to identify improvement opportunitiesFacilitate RCA and RCMS studies (Weibull, FMEA) and implement corrective actionsProvide reliability input for capital projects and ensure new equipment integrates into reliability systemsConduct gap analyses between Asset Reliability Plans, EMS, and PPM programsLead or support facility audits and inspections to prevent asset deteriorationCollaborate to optimize spare parts inventory and equipment availabilityChampion Management of Change (MOC) for equipment and process modifications
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)5+ years in maintenance, reliability, or project engineering in a chemical manufacturing environmentProven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving reliability initiativesStrong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NFPA-NEC and NETA or similar)Experience with condition monitoring techniques (infrared thermography, oil analysis, motor circuit analysis)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skillsCross-functional collaborationAnalytical mindsetProblem-solvingCondition monitoring techniques: infrared thermography, oil analysis, motor circuit analysisCMMS usage and data managementReliability engineering methods: RCA, RC M, Weibull analysis, FMEA
