Senior Cypress QA Engineer
ResponsibilitiesJob Overview:Design and develop automated test scripts using Cypress and TypeScript for functional, regression, and API testing.Build and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable end-to-end test automation frameworks.Perform API testing for REST and GraphQL services, including validation of payloads, authentication, authorization, and error handling.Write and optimize SQL queries for backend validation, data seeding, and verification.Leverage AI tools such as Claude and Copilot Studio to enhance test coverage and efficiency.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to define and execute test scenarios.Lead and mentor junior QA engineers through code reviews and best practice guidance.Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot integration issues.Contribute to performance and security testing initiatives where applicable.Maintain documentation for test frameworks, scripts, and processes.Required Skills And Experience7+ years of experience in QA automation testing.Advanced hands-on experience with Cypress automation framework.Strong programming skills in TypeScript (preferred) or JavaScript.Proven experience in API testing using REST services and tools like Postman.Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend verification.Experience with version control systems such as Git or GitHub.Strong understanding of functional, regression, and end-to-end testing methodologies.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Preferred SkillsExperience with Playwright or similar modern automation frameworks.Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude AI, Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot).Advanced JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge including asynchronous programming concepts.Familiarity with OWASP standards and security testing practices.Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Basic knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or Lighthouse.EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Founded in 2010 and headquartered in the Washington, DC metro area, Cynet Systems Inc. is a leading staffing and recruiting powerhouse.
