Assistant Manager, Gift Shop Logistics

Full-time DescriptionThe Assistant Manager of Logistics for the Gift Shop will oversee receiving operations. The position must have a strong understanding of the Garden's core mission and exhibitions. In addition to helping incorporate existing merchandise into new themes, other duties include analyzing sales, advance planning, processing orders, and receiving shipments. The position oversees the Logistics Associate to ensure that all new orders, invoices, and shipments are processed correctly. They also manage the offsite warehouse to ensure accurate inventory control and tracking. In partnership with the shop management, this position works to ensure an excellent guest experience, successful annual inventory, and smooth daily operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and place purchase orders in TAM (inventory management system), and track to ensure the product is received properlyContact vendors to report damages or missing productsPresent a pleasant and welcoming attitude when interacting with guests on the sales floorBuild positive and long-term relationships with vendorsConduct annual inventory in collaboration with other managersManage the organization of merchandise in the warehouse and stockroomOrganize and rotate back stock in the warehouse and stockroom for easy replenishmentCoordinate placement of shipments from truck deliveriesWork closely with the managers to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floorEnsure all Purchase Orders are completed efficiently and accurately in a timely mannerEnsure merchandise is properly tagged, secured, and coded per company guidelinesAccurately transfer product between both Atlanta and Gainesville warehousesCode and log invoices for approvalManage Logistics Associate on a daily basis to ensure time is being used adequatelySchedule and perform weekly cycle countsMaintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the storage units, warehouse, and stockroomEnsure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programsEnsure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and proceduresSupport and participates in inventory shrinkage reduction goals and programsSupport maintenance of a risk-free environmentFills in for Gift Shop Assistant Manager as neededPerform other duties as assignedAttend management and leadership meetings, and education training when scheduledRequirementsAbility to supervise staff membersMinimum 2 years of retail logistics experienceExperience with inventory management software preferredStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to successfully manage multiple projectsProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelRequired to walk often and stand for long periods of timeOccasionally required to bend, lift or climbOften required to lift moderate weights (25-40) poundsMust have a valid US driver licenseThe above job duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory of all duties required of employees in this job.It is the policy of the Atlanta Botanical Garden to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
