Speech PathologistSpeech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for the delivery of quality care to patients. Involving assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping to prevent communication and swallowing disorders. Work with patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow to prevent choking, under the supervision of the Clinical Director.Requirements:Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.Current and unrestricted license to practice Speech Language Pathology with the State of Texas through TDLR.Current CPR/BCLS certification.Educated and compliant with all HIPPA regulations; maintains strict client confidentiality.Must be willing to work at Terrell State Hospital, a mental health facility with patients that may have a dual diagnosis.Must abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Terrell State Hospital.Must abide by staffing agency and TSH's attendance and leave policyMust comply with HHSC immunization requirementsCOVID-19 testing with negative result requiredCOVID-19 Vaccination Card, if applicableMust submit to HHSC required drug testMust submit to HHSC required fingerprinting and background checkMust complete facility and HHSC required trainingResponsibilities:Swallowing assessment includes accurate history taking, examination, direct patient observation, and collaboration with a treatment team/attending physician leading to the establishment of a diagnosis and treatment plan.Performs periodic re-evaluation of the patient as necessary and makes adjustments in the patient's treatment plan as needed in accordance with physician goals and orders.Documentation in patient's medical record is clear, concise, and identifies target symptoms.Frequency of documentation is appropriate to level of care patient required and addresses referrals as appropriate to internal departments and referrals to outside providers.Compliance with HHSC and facility documentation timeframe requirements.Provides and monitors facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for compliance with accrediting agencies; specifically Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, TSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.License, Certification, or Registration Required :Current and unrestricted license to practice Speech Language Pathology with the State of Texas through TDLRMust be certified by the American Heart Association BLS in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintain that certification while providing services at the Terrell State Hospital.Copies of CPR certifications must be kept on file with TSH's Contracting office.All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Terrell State HospitalSelection Process:The Staffing Agency with the selected candidates will be notified by email.TSH's Agency Hiring Coordinator will communicate with the agency and candidate(s) on dates and times to begin the process of on-boarding.Position - Speech PathologistNeed - 01 Part-Time Position Available (Actual days are flexible)ShiftAvailability - 8:00AM 5:00 PMDays - Monday Wednesday Friday (Actual days are flexible)Term - Minimum of 3 months with option to extend Please Note : The start date commences when all compliance and clearance requirements have been met by the selected candidate.Department - Medical Services-Terrell State HospitalLocation - 1200 East Brin Street Terrell, TX 75160Deadline to Respond - 07/31/2026 5:00 PMTentative Start Date - As soon as possible
