Head Start Lead Teacher (Preschool) (\$5,000 Bonus) \$26.62-\$31.62/hrTurners Falls, MA - Head Start & Early Learning Programs Job Type -Full-time DEPARTMENT: HS&ELP Education POSITION TITLE: Lead TeacherLOCATION: As Assigned STATUS: Non-Exempt SUPERVISOR: Site DirectorSUPERVISE: Teacher, Teacher Assistant and Teacher Assistant/Bus MonitorPOSITION SUMMARY Responsible For Overall Classroom Operations Inaccordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Department of EarlyEducation and Care Regulations, National Association for the Educationof Young Children, and MA Department of Education Frameworks. Work withparents and community to implement individualized School Readinessgoals. Ensure adequate bus monitor coverage for bus route. ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS Associate Degree In Early Childhood Education, Or Relatedfield and actively enrolled in Baccalaureate program with one yearexperience in appropriate early childhood setting. Department of EarlyEducation & Care Lead Teacher certified (for appropriate age group ofAssigned Classroom). ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Commitment To Qualityearly care and education. Complete and maintain EEC ProfessionalQualifications Registry (PQR) And Individual Professional DevelopmentPlan (IPDP). Obtain and maintain CPR and Emergency Pediatric First Aidcertification according to EEC regulations. Practice and maintaincurrent knowledge of the Head Start Program Performance Standards, EECRegulations, HS & ELP Service Delivery, and NAEYC criterion. Ensure theappropriate supervision of children, including implementation ofprotocols for the care of young children both in the classroom and onthe bus. Ensure healthy and safe environments for young children.Provide support and guidance for teaching staff through ongoingsupervision and monthly observation, including volunteers and interns,as assigned. Ensure completion of weekly curriculum, child anecdotalrecords, child assessments, home visits and family conferences. Engagewith families in creating school readiness goals for children. Work withprogram and community specialists to implement goals through program\'scase management system. Fill in for bus monitor as needed, completingdaily passenger logs, pre and post trip bus inspections. Cover for otherclassrooms as needed. Remote work from home will be assigned anddetermined by your supervisor; When schedule requires remote work,expected to be available for meetings, calls, responding to emails, andconducting regular duties during standard service/agency hours. FollowHS & ELP Standard of Conduct. Attend all appropriate program workshopsand meetings, including site Family Meetings. Adhere to agencyconfidentiality polices. Sensitivity tocultural and socioeconomic diversity and the needs of individuals withlow incomes.
