Co-Founder / Head of Incubation & Technology

We're hiring our third co-founder at Commons Lab, a venture incubator backing founders who build coordination infrastructure for the intelligent economy: programmable funding, privacy-preserving identity, agent-native coordination, and financial infrastructure for emerging markets.We work with Protocol Labs and UNDP's Alt Fin Lab. Our founder pipeline flows from Funding the Commons (a 25,000+ person community, 15 conferences across 6 continents, 3 builder residencies) into intensive post-residency incubation, with a follow-on investment vehicle.What you'd own:Founder selection. You design the evaluation frameworks and operational workflows that decide which builders we back. Your AI market judgment is what makes these calls defensible.Builder residencies. Intensive cohorts with partners like UNDP, including in Kenya. Curriculum, mentor pairing, sprint reviews, demo days. Cohorts produce deployable outputs, not slide decks.Product-market fit coaching. You help founders scope MVPs, cut features, find pilot partners, and ship on a timeline.Portfolio support. The residency is the intake. The real value compounds afterward: product roadmaps, fundraising positioning, strategic guidance as the AI landscape shifts.Internal operating system. Pipeline automation, builder tracking, institutional reporting. You build these yourself with Claude, Cursor, and agent frameworks.What we need most:Deep, current AI market expertise. You can tell a founder whether their moat is real.Builds with AI tools. You go from "we need this" to working prototype in a day.Has run a structured program. Incubator, accelerator, or residency you designed and operated.Has been a founder.A talent-spotter. You look at ten founders and identify the two who'll ship.Strongly preferred: expertise in one of our thesis areas, experience at the intersection of AI and finance or governance, institutional partner experience (UN agencies, foundations, governments).
