Summary of Duties: Plan, document, and perform functional, validation, and systematic testing for new and existing software. Numerical validation includes independent coding, cross-validation with existing SAS products or third-party products, equivalence, simulation, or predictive performance. Report defects, evaluate fix requests, and verify fixes. Automate regression testing on all applicable platforms and maintain benchmarks. Review software design during development stage and provide feedback to developers. Stay current with analytical methodologies by researching literature, and participating in courses or conferences. Communicate with developers, product marketing managers, and industry experts to define testing strategies and coverage. Review software documentation and provide feedback. Assist Tech Support and consultants in resolving customer issues. Write technical documents and guidelines for, and provide training to, key stakeholders for features and functionality tested. May work remotely pursuant to SAS' Flexible Work Program. Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as a Developer, Engineer, a related analytics research position, or related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or related field plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as a Developer, Engineer, a related analytics research position, or related occupation.Requires expert programming skills in data management and analysis. Requires experience in an analytical discipline such as statistics, analytics, data science, operations research, or a similar area of study. Requires advanced modular programming skills in SAS Macro. Requires advanced modular programming skills in functions and modules in Python or Lua. Requires basic scripting skills for test automation. Requires advanced validation skills in matrix programming or other complex software programming. Experience and skills may be gained during attainment of graduate degree.
