Trusts and Estates Partner / Senior Associate — Long Island, New YorkA well established and highly regarded Long Island law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates attorney to join its team and take over a thriving HNW practice from a senior partner who is transitioning to semi retirement.This is a rare and genuinely exceptional opportunity for the right attorney. You will not be starting from scratch. You will be stepping into an established book of business in the region of $700,000 to $1 million and working with a sophisticated client base of high net worth individuals and families. You will benefit within a firm that has the infrastructure, the cross referral pipeline and the culture to support your long term growth while building your own practice.The RoleYou will chair the firm's Trusts and Estates Department, taking on full responsibility for the practice with the support of existing associates and paralegals. Day to day you will advise clients on complex estate planning and administration matters, oversee junior staff, manage client relationships and identify cross referral opportunities across the firm's active litigation, real estate, healthcare and corporate practices.The WorkThe client sweet spot is $2 million to $25 million in net worth with some significantly larger matters. You will be expected to advise on sophisticated planning instruments including complex wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, GRATs, SLATs, IDGTs, ILITs, DAPTs, dynasty trusts, charitable structures and business succession planning.
