Overview: The Senior Security Systems Application Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s physical security systems within the Global Safety and Security group. This role requires a highly skilled engineer with expertise in security technologies, system integration, and technical support. The Senior Security Systems Application Engineer will ensure that all security systems are robust, scalable, and compliant with industry standards, while also providing advanced technical support and maintaining strong integration with IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design and implement comprehensive physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems. Ensure that all security systems are scalable, reliable, and meet the organization’s security needs, while adhering to industry standards and best practices. Collaborate with security architects, project managers, and external vendors to deliver high-quality security solutions that align with the organization’s goals. Provide advanced technical support for the organization’s physical security systems, troubleshooting complex issues to ensure system reliability and performance. Develop and implement maintenance schedules, including regular system updates, testing, and preventive maintenance, to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality. Document all technical procedures, system configurations, and maintenance activities to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency in support operations. Ensure seamless integration of physical security systems with the organization’s IT infrastructure, collaborating closely with IT teams to achieve this. Conduct regular audits of security systems to ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and security best practices. Continuously assess and improve security practices, recommending and implementing upgrades and enhancements as needed to maintain the highest standards of security. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PSP, CCNA, CISSP) are preferred. 7+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting physical security systems in a corporate or industrial setting. Proven experience with a wide range of security technologies, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and alarm systems. Strong background in system integration, with experience working closely with IT teams to ensure seamless connectivity and compliance. In-depth knowledge of physical security systems, technologies, and industry standards. Advanced troubleshooting and technical support skills, with the ability to resolve complex system issues efficiently. Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee the full lifecycle of security system implementations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in security system software, network protocols, and IT integration practices.
