Job Overview
We are a growing construction services company in Gulfport, Mississippi, seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a full-time, in-office position. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and a working knowledge of construction or contractor accounting. In this role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance across all accounting functions, reconcile accounts, and prepare essential financial reports that support the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
Perform daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis
Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Track job costs and project-related expenses
Coordinate payroll processing and payroll-related reporting
Prepare and file Mississippi sales tax reports
Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date financial records
Provide financial reporting and support to ownership and management
Requirements
3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the construction or service industry
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (required)
Experience with job costing and contractor accounting workflows
Working knowledge of construction accounting concepts, including progress billing and retainage
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic reporting and reconciliations
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
Ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information with discretion
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work full-time in-office in Gulfport, Mississippi
