Technical Program Manager, Embedded SoftwareRemote | United States | HQ in SF$250k base + equityI’m working with a well-funded AI semiconductor company developing a new accelerator architecture for high-performance, energy-efficient inference.The company needs a Technical Program Manager with direct accelerator or semiconductor experience to coordinate the embedded software required to bring new silicon into production.This is not a general software TPM role. Candidates must have managed firmware, drivers, or low-level software programmes tied directly to accelerator, SoC, or silicon milestones.You’ll work on problems such as:Owning embedded-software programmes across firmware, drivers, bootloaders, and board-support packagesAligning software delivery with tape-out, pre-silicon validation, first-silicon bring-up, board bring-up, and customer deploymentCoordinating ASIC, firmware, driver, validation, compiler, runtime, and systems teamsDriving readiness across device initialization, memory management, DMA, interrupts, command queues, and power managementResolving dependencies involving silicon errata, hardware interfaces, toolchains, and host operating systemsManaging validation through simulation, FPGA prototyping, and hardware emulationIdentifying technical and scheduling risks before they affect silicon or customer milestones.Must have:8+ years of technical programme or project-management experienceDirect experience with AI accelerators, GPUs, NPUs, DSPs, custom SoCs, or semiconductor productsExperience managing embedded software, firmware, or driver programmes for new siliconExperience supporting tape-out, pre-silicon validation, first-silicon bring-up, or board bring-upStrong knowledge of firmware, Linux drivers, memory, DMA, interrupts, boot flows, and hardware-software interfacesExperience coordinating complex delivery across silicon and software engineering teamsThe technical depth to challenge plans, identify dependencies, and communicate risks clearly,Nice to have:Experience with ZeBu, Veloce, Palladium, FPGA prototyping, or similar environmentsFirmware or driver experience for custom acceleratorsLinux kernel, embedded Linux, or RTOS knowledgeExperience managing external engineering partners or silicon vendorsThe strongest candidates will understand how software readiness affects tape-out, first-silicon validation, board bring-up, and production deployment.Worth a confidential chat?
