The Respiratory Student Extern works under the direction of a Respiratory Therapist. The extern is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various work areas and assisting Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks as directed.QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalentActively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy ProgramPreferred: 2nd year Respiratory Therapy student with previous healthcare experienceExperience:Previous experience with assembly and cleaning or respiratory equipmentCertifications:BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)ACLS & PALS prior to graduationOrganization DescriptionSt. Marys Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach.
