OverviewThe Transportation Supervisor effectively coordinates the dedicated fleet by maximizing driver and equipment utilization while exceeding customer expectations through the direction of dispatch operations and all related reporting requirements to the customer and higher management.ResponsibilitiesOperations ManagementProvides day-to-day supervision to staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.Manages driver scheduling process and payroll dataCoordinates load completions and data entry into TMWCoordinates with managers on the customer invoicing process and reconciles common carrier invoice and approvalsEnsures that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with management and fleetDrafts and submits daily end of shift reportMakes recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations and works on those programsEmployee Relations/DevelopmentCommunicates daily with coordinators and drivers regarding any service issues, forecasting workload and any other pertinent company informationAssists in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness Assists in developing a program for all new personnel and ensures the onboarding program is followedManages and maintains good human resources practices with direct reports, and adherence to established corporate and department policies and proceduresWorks with Management and Human Resources to resolve employee relation issues, discipline actions, problem resolution and terminationsProvides feedback, coaching, guidance, and recognition to enhance personnel’s skill developmentPlays an active role in employee development and talent selection.Provides regular coaching and constructive feedback on performance, prepares and delivers hourly performance reviews Maintains accurate timekeeping recordsExhibits a commitment to self-development by staying current on information, tools, and systemsSafety and SecurityEnsures the safe, clean and efficient operation of the work area to meet service standards Supports all safety programs and OSHA/DOT compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all employeesFollows documented processes for reporting, analyzing, and following up on employee injuries and accidents.Ensures employees complete a daily pre/post-trip and reviews dailyQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or at least 1-5 years of supervisory experienceHigh School Diploma requiredExperience with TMW and People Net preferredAbility to work in fast paced environment.
