Controller

Controller needed to join a manufacturing business in Hempstead, Long Island - Up to $140,000 per annum. An established manufacturing organization in Hempstead, Long Island, are looking to recruit a Controller on a permanent basis. The Controller will inherit a team of 4 and will report directly into the CFO. The key responsibilities of the Controller will include but will not be limited to: - Oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. - Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. - Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or issues. - Manage the general ledger accounting functions and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations. - Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. - Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. - Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets. - Collaborate with other departments to provide financial analysis and support for business decisions. - Stay up-to-date with financial concepts, accounting best practices, and changes in regulations. The ideal Controller will have: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA designation preferred). - Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing environment. - Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial concepts. - Proficiency in using accounting software. - Experience with public accounting is a plus. - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Controller will oversee the financial, day to day operation and will play a large part in supporting the business's strategic decision making team. The position will be site based due to the requirement of the position.
