Sales Order Entry & Purchasing ClerkProtean Instruments (located in Knoxville TN) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sales Order Entry & Purchasing Clerk to support our operations team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate order processing, timely purchasing, and smooth coordination between sales, vendors, and internal departments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong administrative skills, and takes pride in accuracy and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Accurately enter and process customer sales orders in the company's systemReview orders for completeness, pricing accuracy, and proper documentationGenerate and issue purchase orders based on demand and inventory levelsTrack and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely deliveryMaintain vendor records and update pricing as neededCoordinate with receiving and inventory to reconcile shipments and ordersAssist with inventory monitoring and stock replenishmentProvide general administrative support to the sales and purchasing departmentsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred1–3 years of experience in order entry, purchasing, or administrative supportStrong attention to detail and high level of accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with ERP or order management systems preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectivelyFamiliarity with supply chain or inventory processesBasic understanding of accounting or pricing structuresProblem-solving mindset and proactive approach to tasksJob Type :• Full Time, In PersonBenefits :401(k) and 401(k) matchingDental, Vision, and Health InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountLife InsurancePaid time offLMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
