PVT Engineer
Position DescriptionPlant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer - Electrical / SoftwareLead quality actions and ongoing product changes for the Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair vehicles at Louisville Assembly Plant.Review incoming warranty claims data daily, review customer and dealership comments, work across skill teams to bin claims into proper binning categories, contact dealership/s for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback, review returned parts for root cause analyses and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions.Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analyses and other Quality related tasks. - Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and lead cost reduction actions in current production vehicles.Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with Supplier partners for subsystem components to address quality concernsLead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-systemIssue engineering Alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality, Cost and waste-avoidance objectivesEngage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product QualityMaintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents (SAQ, Top 20 concerns) - Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews) Engineering Problem Solving; root cause identification and analysis, developing Containment Actions and Permanent Corrective Actions; generating documentation to track progress and advance Quality outcomes. e.g. 8Ds, BSAQ projects.Skills RequiredExcellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interface well with Customers, Plant personnel and engineering teams.Familiarity with CAD systems Python programming a plusExperience Required2+ years of Engineering Experience preferred.Automotive / Manufacturing a plusEducation RequiredBachelor of Science in Engineering in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringSix-Sigma Training (Black Belt or Green Belt Certification) a plus.
